I had this great idea to create a geometric turkey (the baked kind). Then I found a ton of live foul on Pinterest – so I made one of those too!
Halloween Math is over, but Thanksgiving Math is just beginning. (And look for more Christmas Math and even Hanukkah Math soon!)
You’ve got four choices of free downloadable templates:
- Live Turkey for young kids
- Live Turkey for older kids
- Baked (or fried) Turkey for young kids
- Baked Turkey for older kids
Supplies
- One of the free downloadable templates above
- Construction paper in your prefered colors
- Scissors
- Glue or glue stick
- Crayons, sharpies or even some googly eyes
Instructions
Use the template shapes to cut out the geometric pieces from construction paper. Follow the design on the download to glue the pieces onto another piece of construction paper. Shade the pieces and draw in eyes as you like.
Now, GO!
Don’t let the students have all the fun – you enjoy it too. Use the discussion questions as the beginning of a conversation about sizes, angles and shapes.
And share with others on Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest!
