This week’s Homeschool Math Chat question is, “What’s the best way to tutor/teach your own children?”
We do two Homeschool Math Chats per week to cover the world:
- Tuesdays at 8:30pm CST (Houston time) (click here for your location’s time)
- Fridays at 9am BST (London time) (click here for your location’s time)
What is Homeschool Math Chat?
It’s a tweet chat for parents kids of math-learning age – homeschoolers in particular, afterschoolers too. It’s hosted by MathFour.com’s Bon Crowder (@mathfour) and Bright Brain Studio‘s Beth McKeon (@beth_mckeon).
We share tips and tricks to teach math to kids of all ages and in all settings. The goal is to get everyone on the positive math track – starting with the grownups.
Oh, and engineers and mathematicians jump in to provide support too!
Here’s how to join the party…
You need a Twitter account. If you don’t have one click here to get one.
You’ll need a way to follow #HSMath separately from your other tweets (or you’ll go nuts). Some options are:
- TweetChat – this types the #HSMath tag and follows the stream
- TweetDeck – for Desktop, iPhone or iPad, you’ll have to add the #HSMath hashtag yourself
- HootSuite – Good service, but you’ll have to add the #HSMath hashtag yourself on this one too
- TweetGrid – a web-based dashboard that’s also an app for some smartphones, again you’ll need to add #HSMath on each tweet
The first one gets you most directly to where you need to be to participate. If you have questions or are panicked, send me a note via twitter by clicking here.
And if you have a chance, please support Homeschool Math Chat by voting to give us authority and tweeting to your friends.
